The central Library of Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur is housed in a four storied functional independent building with greenery all around, in a peaceful environment, located at the heart of the campus. It was named after Pt. Sundarlal Sharma the legendry freedom fighter, litterateur and social reformer in December 1985. Library computerization was initiated in 2000 and by the end of 2005, successfully computerized most of its Housekeeping / Technical services including the activities of Acquisition Section, Processing Section, Circulation Section and Periodical Section. The Library database contains about 164969 records. Working Hours Monday to Friday : 09:00AM to 06:00PM Working Hours Monday to Friday : 08:00AM to 08:00PM Services and Facilities Borrowing of books:  Issue and return of books is done between 10.30 AM to 5.00 PM.  Books are issued for 2 weeks to students. It is advised not to keep the books beyond due date to avoid overdue fines. On-line Catalogue: Online Public Access Catalogue is prepared with the help of SOUL software. Searching is very fast and can meet various approaches of the users. Internet:  Library has internet connectivity under NME ICT scheme.  Internet facility is provided free, basically to access more than 5400+ e-journals made available to our university under e-ShodhSindhu consortium.  Wi-fi facility is available in library. Encyclopedia, Annual reviews & Advances:  More than 100 World's most important encyclopedias and 23 Annual reviews & Advances of last many years are available. For Visually Impaired Students :  Braille Printer  Scanner  Talking software (JAWS) Any normal book in English or Hindi can be scanned, made audible and Braille print can be obtained. Overhead book scanner: - A very high speed sophisticated scanner is available for scanning books & other reading materials. Giyankothi: - e-repository of Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University. Census Workstation:-Workstation for Research on Micro Data from Census is available in the library, which is one amongst only 13 workstation of India. Plagiarism Detecting Software:-Document checking facility by OURIGINAL to curb Plagiarism under ShodhSudhi. World Bank: - Depository library of World Bank and since 2009 started functioning as e-library of World Band. It is one amongst only 18 World Bank depository library of India.
